Monday 12 October: national holiday across Spain
12 October is the Fiesta Nacional de España, a public holiday throughout the country — in Alicante just as in Torrevieja and El Campello. In 2026 it falls on a Monday, which makes it a long weekend.
For a sale in progress that means town halls, notaries and the Registro de la Propiedad stay closed that day. If you have a signing scheduled around then, or still need paperwork — nota simple, cédula de habitabilidad, certificado energético — it is better to request it now than in early October.
